Day 7: 1 May

Unlike yesterday, students and team leaders went shopping together at JJ (short for 'Jatujak') Market, which was famous for its wide range of merchandise. Most of the shops would open at eleven, so there were nothing much to buy.

We had lunch and prepared ourselves for the closing ceremony. Medalists also rehearsed for the awarding session.

Royal closing ceremony started, over which Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn presided. HRH also awarded the medalists herself.

Farewell dinner party! There were lovely student shows from every team. Mongolian students could sing Thai song (Chaeo Ruea, meaning 'row a boat') and it sounded almost accurate! Finally, we turned the hall into a dancing floor, and bid valediction to each other. The 10th Asian Physics Olympiad has, in the middle of a humid night, come to a conclusion.

See you in Taipei.
